Earlier we introduced the processing flow of acrylic sheets. All acrylic products are produced and processed through these process sequences. Today Jinbao takes you to understand the polishing process of acrylic.

Acrylic has rough edges after cutting, engraving, and punching, which is easy to scratch the hand. It needs to be polished, and then bent and spliced. There are generally three types of polishing processes:

1. Flame polishing:

Flame polishing belongs to manual polishing. The fuel used is high-concentration alcohol. The small blue flame sprayed by the spray gun passes over the acrylic edge at a constant speed. After high temperature burning, the acrylic edge is very smooth, and the effect is similar to that after cutting by a laser cutting machine.

Advantages: the fastest speed, low processing cost, relatively less labor-intensive, time-saving and labor-saving, and average efficiency;

Disadvantages:careful observation still has slightly small carving knife marks;

Flame polishing is suitable for small acrylic handicrafts that do not require high product quality, cheaper acrylic products, and customers who do not have such high requirements for polishing.

2.Cloth wheel polishing:

The cloth wheel polishing belongs to manual polishing. Use the special wax for polishing on the cloth wheel polishing machine, and put the surface to be polished under the cloth wheel to polish and polish until the surface is smooth and translucent.

Advantages: It can be polished well and can be polished;

Disadvantages: labor-intensive, slow efficiency;

Flame polishing is suitable for manual polishing of floor plans and irregular shelves, which is inefficient and slow.

3. Diamond polishing:

Diamond polishing belongs to machine polishing, and diamond polishing machine is a relatively expensive equipment.

Advantages: high efficiency, multi-piece superimposed polishing; good polishing effect and high efficiency;

Disadvantages: only the surface can be polished but not the surface, and the length of the polished acrylic cannot exceed the machine;

It is suitable for acrylic handicrafts with high polishing requirements, and is often used in conjunction with cloth wheel polishing process.
