Choosing the right material for your project can be filled with uncertainty. Is it strong enough? Will it fade? How do I clean it without ruining the matte finish?
At Jinbao Plastic, we believe an informed customer is a happy customer. We receive hundreds of inquiries every month about our Frosted Acrylic Sheets, and we’ve compiled the most critical questions into this single, comprehensive guide.
Whether you are an architect, a distributor, or a DIY enthusiast, here are the honest answers to help you buy with confidence.
This is the #1 question we get. The short answer: It is significantly tougher.
Impact Resistance: Cast acrylic is approximately 17 times stronger than glass of the same thickness. If you hit a frosted acrylic partition, it might flex, but it won't shatter into dangerous shards like glass.
Weather Resistance: Our frosted sheets are UV stabilized. This means they can withstand years of direct sunlight without yellowing or becoming brittle.
Scratch Resistance: While acrylic is softer than glass, the frosted texture actually helps hide minor surface scuffs and fingerprints better than clear glossy acrylic.
Selecting the right gauge depends entirely on your application.
For Framing (2mm - 4mm): If the sheet is fully supported in a frame (like a cabinet insert or a picture frame), thin sheets are cost-effective and sufficient.
For Self-Standing (6mm - 10mm): For sneeze guards, desk dividers, or signage that needs to stand upright, you need rigidity. Anything under 6mm may bow under its own weight.
Opacity Levels:
Light Diffusing: Lets light through but blurs details (great for lamps).
Privacy Matte: Blocks visibility almost entirely (great for changing rooms).

Absolutely. One size rarely fits all in professional projects.
Cut-to-Size: We can cut sheets to your exact dimensions with a tolerance of ±0.5mm. This saves you shipping costs (no waste) and fabrication time.
Surface Finish: You can choose between:
Single-Sided Matte (P95): Matte on one side, glossy on the back. Ideal for printing.
Double-Sided Matte: Matte on both sides. Ideal for partitions viewed from both directions.
Maintaining the "velvet" look of frosted acrylic is easy, but you must avoid one common mistake.
The Mistake: NEVER use ammonia-based cleaners (like Windex) or alcohol. These chemicals attack the molecular structure of the plastic, causing micro-cracks (crazing) and cloudiness.
The Solution: Use a clean microfiber cloth and a mixture of warm water with a few drops of mild dish soap. Wipe gently. The matte texture naturally hides dust, so it requires less frequent cleaning than clear glass.
Shipping large plastic sheets requires care.
Packaging: We ship our sheets with protective PE film on both sides. For bulk orders, sheets are stacked on wooden pallets and strapped securely to prevent corner damage during transit.
Lead Time:
In-Stock Standard Sizes: Typically ship within 3-5 business days.
Custom Cuts/Large Orders: Production time varies from 7-14 days depending on the volume.
Global Shipping: We export worldwide. Transit times depend on your port, but we provide tracking and logistics support every step of the way.
Frosted Acrylic Sheet is a modern, durable, and versatile material, but knowing how to specify and care for it is key to a successful project.

Q1: Will frosted acrylic turn yellow in the sun?
A: No. High-quality cast acrylic is UV stable and resistant to yellowing for 10+ years, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
Q2: Can I laser cut frosted acrylic?
A: Yes! Laser cutting creates a beautiful, polished edge that contrasts nicely with the matte surface. It is the preferred method for intricate designs.
Q3: Is frosted acrylic see-through?
A: It is translucent, not transparent. It allows light to pass through but blurs objects behind it. The further the object is from the sheet, the more blurred it becomes.
Q4: What is the difference between Cast and Extruded frosted acrylic?
A: Cast acrylic is harder, has better chemical resistance, and is easier to machine (laser/drill) without melting. Extruded is softer and more budget-friendly but can gum up tools.
