After a variety of processing techniques, acrylic can be made into products with special decoration and unique decorative effect. Jinbao introduced 4 production processes of acrylic sheet today.

1. Casting and molding production method:

(1) The casting plate is made of brand-new MMA. Under the action of the initiator, it is heated and polymerized. When the conversion rate reaches 10%, it is cooled to room temperature. After degassing, it is poured into the template made of inorganic glass. After water bath and drying The room is heated, and the material is formed after the polymerization is completed, and the acrylic sheet is covered with a film and packaged into a finished product.

(2) Casting students need to use molds, and the texture, shape and structure of the processed product surface are very complicated, so the production scale is suitable for small batch production. Products made by casting have high toughness and strength, and are also good for viewing.

(3) Acrylic cast sheet has high molecular weight, excellent stiffness, strength and excellent chemical resistance. It has unparalleled flexibility in color system and surface texture effect, and has complete product specifications for various special purposes.

(4) The casting method can make very thick plates, but the tolerances will be relatively large.

2. Extrusion molding production method:

(1) Polymethyl methacrylate can also be extruded, and plexiglass plates, rods, pipes, sheets, etc. can be prepared from particles produced by suspension polymerization. Extrusion molding can use a single-stage or two-stage vented extruder, and the screw length-diameter ratio is generally 20-25.

(2) Profiles prepared by extrusion molding, especially sheets, due to the small molecular weight of the polymer, mechanical properties, heat resistance, and solvent resistance are not as good as casting profiles, especially for pipes and other casting methods. Difficult to manufacture profiles.

(3) The extruded plate is formed by mechanical extrusion. The extrusion process is relatively uniform in thickness, but it cannot extrude a relatively thick plate. The thickest plate in China is usually below 15mm.

(4) The extrusion method can realize large-scale and large-scale mass production

The production method of extrusion can be fully automated, and conversely, this advantage also makes processing inflexible, and the process flow and product model cannot be easily changed.

3. Injection molding production method:

(1) Injection molding uses pellets obtained by suspension polymerization, and molding is carried out on a common plunger or screw injection molding machine.

(2) Typical process conditions of injection molding: injection molding products also need post-treatment to eliminate internal stress. The treatment is carried out in a hot air circulation drying oven at 70-80 °C. The treatment time depends on the thickness of the product, and generally takes about 4 hours.

4. Thermoforming production method:

(1) Thermoforming is the process of making acrylic sheets or sheets into products of various sizes and shapes.

(2) Process: Heat the material cut into the required size in an oven, heat it at 160°C-170°C to soften it, clamp it on the mold frame after 13-15 minutes, and press it again to make it close. The mold profile is obtained to obtain the same shape as the profile surface. After cooling and shaping, the edges are trimmed to obtain the product.
